Andrew Steele

I started playing guitar at the age of 15 & spent most of my last two years at school mainly in the music room, we had the best music teacher ever, Mr Wilkinson, who was a great encouragement to me & didn't mind letting me practice whenever possible, even writing notes to other teachers to get me out of their lessons, "what a guy!"

It wasn't long before I decided which music I loved & after an aunt bought me a guitar tuition book for Christmas that only had three songs in it, one of which was AC/DC massive hit Back In Black, I was hooked.

I'd never even heard the song but after seeing the picture inside of some crazed guy playing a guitar dressed in a school uniform (Angus Young) I just wanted to find out more. So I saved up and bought myself the Back in Black album on cassette and played it to death.

It was many years before I finally joined a band called Viva73, we were a rock covers band. I enjoyed it but realized what I wanted to do. So in 2011 I was fortunate enough to be allowed to join Highway To Hull & never looked back.

The current line up is a collection of fantastic musicians that get on and love the music we play, I could not wish for better band mates, they are all ace.
